The mighty ship Demeter is the arc for agriculture. Named after the greek goddess of agriculture and vegetation. It is comfortable and it has a 1 billion person capacity. The vegetation and livestock are kept at the front of the ship, well away from the engines and fuel supplies. The accommodation, medical units, recreational activities and many more luxuries. The livestock are kept in a different sector from the people and plants. We will transport approximately 40 thousand poultry, 40 thousand cows (Angus and dairy) and 60 thousand other assorted animals. We will also be transporting edible plants and remedial ones as well. The trees we are transporting will be kept in two sections. One for a backup oxygen and a relaxation area for the passengers, another group which will be planted upon arrival at aurora 56z. The length of the animal/plant section is 2311 metres in length, 2605 metres in height. The accommodation block is 2608 m in length, 1138 m in height
For terraform, the 5/6D agriculture district (Ben, Isaac, Alannah and Charlie) will be constructing barns, farms etc for animals. Farms will be fenced off to keep crops and animals safe. The agriculture district is also responsible for food and water, so we will be planting crops and trees all over our area. Quarantine will be taken care of, as the animals will be checked.
The diseases we are worried about the animals and plants having are generally the contagious ones. Because the animals and plants were at such close quarters on the ship a whole crop or paddock could be contaminated. Alos if the disease is still active when the plant/animal is dead would be a much more dangerous issue, due to the fact that another specimen could catch the disease once the current holder is deceased.
